Custom Jewelry Order Terms
By placing a custom order with Communion by Joy Inc., a California corporation (“we,” “us,” or“Jeweler”), you agree to the following:
Custom, Made-to-Order Work
All custom pieces are created specifically for you.
They are not pre-made, resale items, or returnable inventory.
Once your design is approved and payment is received, production begins exclusively
for you.
Design Approvals
During the design process, we may provide sketches, renderings, wax models, photos,
or videos for review.
Your written approval (including email or text confirmation) confirms acceptance of the
design, proportions, structure, alignment, and overall aesthetic.
After approval, the final piece may not be rejected based on approved design elements.
Payment & Production Timeline
Full payment is required before production begins.
Production timelines are estimates and are typically 6–8 weeks, depending on materials
and complexity.
All shipments are fully insured and require signature upon delivery.
Risk of loss transfers to you once the piece is delivered to the shipping carrier.
Shipping fees:
o $50 domestic
o $100 international
Final Sale
All custom orders are final sale.
No refunds, returns, or chargebacks are permitted once production has begun.
All payments are non-refundable.
Handcrafted & Natural Variations
Each piece is handcrafted using natural materials.
Variations may occur in stone characteristics, inclusions, metal finishes, texture, tool
marks, asymmetry, surface variations, or porosity.
These characteristics are inherent to handmade jewelry and are not defects.
Definition of a Defect
A “Defect” means a significant structural issue that affects the safety or wearability of the
piece.
The following are not considered defects:
o Natural variations
o Approved design elements
o Subjective dissatisfaction
o Normal wear and tear
o Damage caused by misuse or third-party alterations
Repairs as Sole Remedy
If we determine that a structural defect exists, your sole remedy is repair (or replacement
at our discretion).
We must be given a reasonable opportunity to inspect and repair the piece before any
further action is taken.
Refunds are not available for custom work.
Care & Third-Party Work
Resizing, repair, or modification by a third party voids any repair obligations.
We are not responsible for damage caused by:
o Normal wear and tear
o Accidental damage
o Third-party work
o Improper care or handling
Client-Supplied Stones or Materials
If you provide gemstones or materials (including heirloom stones), you assume all risk of
loss, damage, breakage, or inherent flaws.
Manufacturing and setting processes involve inherent risk.
Shipping materials to and from us also carries risk.
Except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct, we are not responsible for
loss or damage to client-supplied materials.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental,
emotional, or consequential damages.
Our total liability will not exceed the amount paid for your custom piece.
